Making A Difference
The Change
Conference was founded by Glenlyon Norfolk alumni Mimi Warren. In her grade ten
year, Mimi went on a life changing exchange to India. She was deeply inspired,
and returned home committed to making a difference in her world. Mimi then
founded the Empowering Youth To Make Constructive Change Conference.
The first Conference was held in 2001, organized by a group of passionate and dedicated students. This conference drew twenty-three speakers and more than one hundred and forty delegates from across South Vancouver Island.
Since then, the Change Conference has been annually run by a student committee. The students come together from different schools across Victoria to share their common compassion for changing the world. The conference runs in the spring, and has been a great success every year. Past speakers include Rick Hansen, Andrew Petter and Stephen Lewis. The Change Conference is run by students for students. It is a place for students to become informed, express themselves and take action.
